
Pebble Beach Concourse d’Elegance, Gooding & Company’s auction has set another set of world records during the auction this year. It now has the most expensive car record ever sold in the United States.
The auction started in the year 1950 and has since the most followed auto show by car enthusiasts. There are no car races happening but an auto show hosted by Automotive Fine Arts Society is just enough to keep the surprise and thrill during the event.
When they were running down to the last tally, a total of $64.2 million is up in the air. This means, it is $4.2 million more when faired to last year’s auction. Among the expensive automobiles that were sold at this exclusive auction were a collection of twelve Bugatti cars. Each of the cars were sold for $15 million. There was once a 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB “California” Spider which was sold for $3.63 million. There were also a collection of three cars which was exclusively shown as Oprah Winfrey’s personal collection for $716,000.
The most expensive car sold was the 1937 Bugatti Type 37SC Atalante Coupe. It was made by the Bugatti which was built in 1909. Bugatti was later closed in 1963 since it just concentrated its manufacturing for airplanes rather than cars. It was auctioned for $7.92 million.
While the most expensive car sold was the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder sold for $10.9 million.
