Rosamond Bernier who worked in Paris Vogue before building L’Oeil right after the World War II. She is now cutting out piles of clothes from her wardrobe collection in New York. The socialite is putting almost everything up on sale at Yoox.com
The main attraction of the said wardrobe sale is her haute couture water-print taffeta ball gown which was designed by Yves Saint Laurent for Christian Dior in 1959. Among the many awards she has received are the Legion of Honor and the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et Lettres in France, and the Cross of the Order of Isabel la Catolica, bestowed by King Juan Carlos of Spain.
Rosamond Bernier will tell a story for each of the dress that will be on display at Yoox.com. Among the elite artists whom have also become her friends are Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Henri Matisse, Fernand Léger, Max Ernst, Joan Miró, and Alberto Giacometti.
