Lavish Land

Yves Saint Laurent who died in June 2008 has acquired the most expensive chair in the history of fashion, luxury and leather.  The great and late French fashion icon founded the iconic brand YSL.

He bought the armchair from an art dealer who is based in Paris. The chair was created between 1917 and 1919 by an Irish designer named Eileen Gray. The armchair was called the “Dragons’” Chair and is considered as one of the Irish designer’s greatest masterpieces. The chair was sold for €21.9 million and converting in US Dollars that price amounts to a total of $27.8 million!
